This service focuses on offering accessible legal housing and homelessness advice to veterans to assist them to overcome the practical barriers caused by the cost of the living crisis by giving holistic and sustained support, including separation and financial issues, housing and heritable, mental and physical vulnerabilities, and legal issues that inhibit security of tenure.
The service is available at a range of easy access locations to veterans throughout Stirling local authority area to maximise opportunity for the veteran community to engage with the minimum of obstacles.
There are 26 established trusted local CAB access points, including recovery cafes, libraries, food banks and strong links with local veteran stakeholders.
We will liaise with other agencies such as local authority departments, social work, homelessness teams, RSL’s, and DWP and work with these to develop a smooth service for local veterans.
The VHAS also will be providing training on legal housing/homelessness prevention issues & 2nd tier legal consultancy support to Veteran stakeholders.
